Mail on Sunday and Accountancy Age Acknowledge ICPA and BASDA Concerns Over Online Filing based on IXBRL |
We are pleased to report that The Mail on Sunday and Accountancy Age have recognised the concerns expressed by the ICPA over the decision to make efiling of Accounts etc in XBRL format.
It is our view that XBRL will result in increased costs to all Accountants for nil benefit to either Accountant or client.
British software trade body BASDA have also criticised HMRC for ignoring fears about the additional workload being placed on developers and Accountants.
The ICPA have and always will champion the small accounting practitioner and try to help in issues that have a direct impact on their practice.
See the Winter 2009 edition of Accounting Practice for more details.
