2020: Diary Dates worth making

I’ve been in Practice for many years now and I’ve been Chairman of the ICPA for nearly as many and I thought I’d share with you some upcoming events that I will be attending this year which I think Accountants in Practice should also be attending because it takes us away from the office enabling us to concentrate on the practice, how we are running it, what we can do to improve it and what tools are available that we think will be a good fit for our practice.

So in no particular order:

The Digital Accountancy Show : 26 March 2020 at The Tottenham Hotspur Stadium London

This is the new kid on the block in terms of national exhibitions and Dan Cockerton and his team have picked a good venue and month to launch. Focusing solely on tech is a smart move and one that will enable us, the attendees, to focus solely on this one aspect which is vital to our practice. Obviously, all the usual suspects will be there in attendance but also many that you may well never see at a standard Accountancy exhibition. I’ve been impressed with the range of exhibitors already booked and I think you will also checkout the site at www.digitalaccountancyshow.co.uk but remember it’s all about the tech.

Accountex London: 13-14 May 2020 at The ExCel Centre London

The biggest and for me the best Accountancy Exhibition as the size and attendee numbers verify. It’s a great mix of Exhibitors from the world of Accountancy, Taxation, Payroll, Administration and of course all things Tech. Lots of very good presentations and a great venue. It’s the market leader for a reason and if you go you’ll see why. Checkout the website at www.accountex.co.uk.

Accountex Summit North : 22 September at Manchester Central

Accountex London’s little brother as I call it. Smaller, more intimate, more quieter and in Manchester not London. If you can’t get to London or it’s simply too far then hopefully you can get to Manchester and it’s everything that’s good about London only on a smaller scale.

Practice Evolution: 25 June 2020 Royal College of Physicians London and 22 October 2020 Spinningfields Conference Centre Manchester

Our own annual conference so of course it should be in every accountants diary and this year is no different. A great range of speakers at both events with a superb line up of exhibitors all relevant to Accountants in Practice and the chance to meet and mingle with them all as well as with Accountants just like yourself. Not to be missed checkout the website www.practiceevolution.co.uk.

Accountingweb Live: 2-3 December 2020 The Ricoh Arena Coventry

Another first which should be worth a view. Accountingweb have picked a good venue and time and have a lot of quality partners to back them up. As it’s virtually a year away information at the moment is a tad sketchy but that will change through the year and I’m guessing that with the marketing weight of Accountingweb behind it they should put a good event on. Checkout the website at www.accountingweblive.co.uk.

Hopefully, I’ll see you at one of these events in 2020.
